ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – November 24, 2021): Federal Minister of National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam urged young scientists, teachers and researchers to move forward and meet the challenges emerging challenges of economic development and national progress.
He was addressing the inaugural session of the 4th International Conference of Applied Zoology (ICAZ-2021) inaugurated here on Wednesday.
The conference was organized by Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) in collaboration with Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) and the Applied Zoological Society of Pakistan (AZSP).
Highlighting the problems of agricultural research, the minister said that wheat production in Pakistan has remained stalled for the past 12 years and in animal husbandry the production per animal is the lowest in the world.
“Genetic technology, animal husbandry, feeding and health care are essential to increase production. However, we must apply the best practices of developed economies and invest in the development of human resources,” he said. -he adds.
The Minister said that we need world-class universities and islands of excellence to compete with the world and move forward.
Earlier, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University, said in his welcome speech that the two-day conference brought together leading academics, scientists, researchers, doctors and various professionals industry around the world. the world.

The ICAZ 2021 scientific program has been designed to address major fields such as biochemistry, biodiversity, bioinformatics, biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, cancer biology, cell and molecular biology, human biology. development, ecology, entomology, environmental biology, fishing, food. and nutrition, freshwater and marine biology, microbiology, ornithology, paleontology, parasitology, pest control, physiology, poultry science, toxicology, wildlife conservation, zoo archeology.
