Sunstone Management Welcomes Director of Economic Development Eric Romero

LONG BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Building on its leadership position in supporting local economic development through innovative public-private partnerships, Sunstone Management today announced that longtime community member Eric Romero has made his proven track record in helping underrepresented small businesses access capital and technical assistance, was appointed Director of Economic Development.

Mr. Romero previously served as a business development officer for the City of Long Beach’s Department of Economic Development, where he oversaw the implementation of economic stimulus programs totaling more than $25 million, administered the the city’s $3 million revolving loan fund, coordinated a $10 million annual The District Improvement Program, managed several strategic partnerships, and managed the development of the city’s 10-year economic development plan.

Mr. Romero holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from CSULB. It also recently received California Accredited Economic Developer status from the California Association for Local Economic Development, California’s premier economic development association.
