The Prime Minister will deliver a webinar on economic growth tomorrow

Building on the momentum of Prime Minister GatiShakti’s National Blueprint announced in this year’s Union Budget, the Ministry of Trade and Industry is hosting its first post-budget webinar on Monday titled “Creating Synergies for Economic Growth accelerated”.

This webinar will bring together senior officials from various relevant ministries, leading academics and industry representatives to discuss and shape the strategy to improve India’s logistics efficiency.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address all participants on GatiShakti’s vision and its convergence with the Union Budget 2022 and Trade and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will chair the closing session of the day during from which leaders from all themes will present their findings and elaborate on the way forward.

Following the Prime Minister’s address, participants will break into five concurrent sessions covering various aspects of the logistics industry in India.

Anurag Jain, Secretary to the Ministry, will lead the session on “Whole Nation Approach” to introduce a new vision of integrated planning and time-synchronized implementation.

This session will focus on the GatiShakti National Master Plan Portal which has been developed by the Bhaskaracharya Institute of Space Application Geo-informatics, which will provide real-time information to stakeholders through a dynamic Geographic Information System interface.

The second session on “Cooperative Federalism and Improving Capital Investments for Infrastructure” will be led by Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Special Secretary for Logistics at DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This session will focus on ways to improve integration between the Center and the States while planning major infrastructure projects as well as announcements in the budget to improve the availability of capital for such projects.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Giridhar Aramane, will lead a separate session on “Drivers of Logistics Efficiency” focusing on the National Highways Master Plan with Sagarmala, Parvatmala as well as Terminals of multimodal cargo PM GatiShakti.

Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary of the Department of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) will moderate the session on “Logistics Workforce Strategy – Improving Skills and Employment Opportunities”. This session will host discussions on ways to create world-class talent to accelerate India’s growth through PM GatiShakti.

The final session led by Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog, is titled “ULIP-Revolutionizing Indian Logistics”. The logistics sector is the backbone to realize the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative and to strengthen it, it is necessary to interconnect the actors concerned.

The Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) is one such promising initiative in this direction that will introduce digital efficiencies and create a nationwide one-stop logistics platform for end-to-end visibility. and efficient movement of goods. During this session, the progress made so far and the way forward for ULIP will be discussed.
